3/13/2023 0 Comments Erebus mountain lake george![]() ![]() Doing Buck from the Hogs town side is steep, but quick (only 2.5 miles). It's all downhill with a road walk to get from the Sleeping Beauty trail head to the Buck trail head. From Sleeping Beauty to Buck is very easy. The peaks required to become a Lake George 12ster include Cat Mountain, Thomas Mountain, Buck Mountain, Erebus Mountain, Sleeping Beauty, Black Mountain. Going from Erebus to Sleeping Beauty is a walk in the park until you have to gain elevation to get up Sleeping Beauty, but it's definitely not the hardest climb in the 12. I arrived here at approximately 8:45 and was immediately greeted to wonderful views of Lake George and the peaks on the opposite shore (mainly Black and Erebus.
